2024年4月25日，神舟十八号载人飞船发射升空，航天员叶光富、李聪、李广苏开始了他们的太空征程。
长征二号F运载火箭成功将神舟十八号乘组送入轨道，发射任务取得圆满成功，神舟十七号和神舟十八号航天员乘组在中国空间站胜利“会师”，人们对神舟十八号将要执行的任务充满期待。在轨期间，神舟十八号乘组将开展多项科学实验，包括实施国内首次在轨水生生态研究项目，“太空养鱼”有望在中国空间站实现；实施2至3次出舱活动，对舱外管路、电缆及关键设备安装碎片防护加固装置。另外，被动辐射制冷材料、光纤材料和光学薄膜材料等，也计划在今年5月份，由航天员统一安装至材料舱外暴露实验装置内后出舱，开展新一轮暴露实验。
此前，由汤洪波、唐胜杰、江新林组成的神舟十七号航天员乘组，在轨期间已经圆满完成了两次出舱，并首次完成在轨航天器舱外设施维修任务，还顺利取回首批舱外暴露实验材料样品，包括金属和非金属两类，总计407件。这些样品之后将随神舟飞船返回地面，由科学家进行进一步研究。在航天医学领域，我们进行了下肢运动学测试实验，以研究航天员在失重环境下的运动生物力学特征；进行了视功能研究，探索航天飞行相关视功能损伤的发病机制，以提出相应防护方案。此外，神舟十七号航天员乘组继续深耕“太空菜园”，不仅接连获得丰收，还上演了太空“吃播”，在广大网友面前品尝了由两个乘组共同栽培出来的成果。
从神舟五号到神舟十八号，从单人进入太空，到三人乘组进入中国空间站，各类科技实验项目的数量和种类都发生了质的提升。这些实验不仅对地面上的技术革新有重要意义，对人类探索太空、建立太空家园也有深远影响。譬如，在空间新技术领域，空间高效自由活塞斯特林热电转换试验取得的成果，能够减少对传统太阳能的依赖，为我们未来载人月球探测与深空探测任务提供了更坚实的技术支撑。
